Beyond the sermon clip
React videos start with real reactions.
Pastor, you already have a perspective worth sharing. React videos give you a simple way to share it, without writing another script or preparing another message.

Watch these examples to get a feel for the format. You bring your genuine reaction and perspective. Our team brings the finished video together.
A different doorway
Let people meet the pastor beyond the pulpit.
Sermon clips share your teaching. React videos can show your humor, compassion, personality, and perspective in an everyday conversation.
Our team selects videos that are already attracting attention. You watch them for the first time on camera, then tell us what you think. We combine the original clip with your reaction so the audience can follow the conversation.
This adds another kind of content alongside your sermons. It is an opportunity to connect with people who might not click on a sermon first, not a promise of viral reach.
You don’t start with a blank page.
The clip gives you something to respond to. No new message outline needed.
Let your genuine response lead.
A laugh, a thoughtful pause, or a kind observation can help people get to know you.
Start where people already are.
Join a topic that has their attention and add something useful, human, or encouraging.
Your simple setup
One device records.
One device plays.
You probably already have what you need. The important part is seeing your face and hearing your response clearly.
DEVICE A · RECORD YOU
Laptop, camera, or second phone.
Set it in front of you at eye level. Make sure your face is in the frame and your microphone is on. This device records you, not just the screen.
DEVICE B · PLAY THE CLIPS
Your phone and the video folder.
Use your phone to open the 5–6 videos our team sends. Hold it below the camera so it does not hide your face. After each clip, look back into the recording lens.
Only have one device? Ask your account manager to walk you through a workable setup before you preview the clips. You do not need to buy equipment first.
An office or another calm room works. Avoid competing conversations.
A window in front of you is better than a bright window behind you.
Use a stable surface and leave a little space around your head.
Record a short test of yourself talking. Check picture and sound first.
The step-by-step guide
Press record.
Watch.
Be yourself.
You are not delivering a polished sermon. You are letting someone hear your honest response to something you just saw.
-
1
Ask for your first batch.
Your account manager will help you get a folder of 5–6 selected videos. Tell them the kinds of topics you are comfortable with. Keep the clips unwatched.
Folder won’t open? Get help with access before recording.
-
2
Set up, then hit record.
Use one device to record you and your phone to play the clips. Check your framing and sound with a short test, then start your real recording.
Camera recording first. Source video playing second. -
3
Watch the first video on your phone.
Let the camera capture your natural reaction while you watch. You do not have to perform or exaggerate. Keep your face visible.
Leave the camera recording through both the clip and your response.
-
4
Look at the lens and respond.
When the clip ends, look into the camera and share your thoughts. What stood out? What made you laugh? What would you want someone to take away?
One clear thought is enough. You do not have to force a sermon or a Scripture reference into every response.
-
5
Repeat with the remaining clips.
Move through the folder, watching and responding one video at a time. Pause briefly between clips so your editor can recognize each new reaction.
Not comfortable with a clip? Skip it and tell your account manager. You do not have to comment on everything.
-
6
Send the original recording to your team.
Ask your account manager where to upload the files and let them know which clips you recorded. Send the original files without adding music, effects, or your own edits. Our editors combine the source video with your reaction.
Before the session, confirm your team’s preferred orientation and whether they want one recording or separate files.
If the camera makes you freeze
A starting thought.
Not another script.
You do not need the perfect answer. Pick one of these openers and finish it in your own words.
“What stood out to me was…”
Point to a moment in the clip, then explain why it caught your attention.
“That reminds me of a time…”
Share a brief, relevant experience. Keep private details about other people private.
“Here’s what I hope we take from that…”
Offer one helpful perspective or a word of encouragement people can carry with them.
If you need more context or are not sure about a fact, it is okay to say so. Curiosity and care are more valuable than a rushed answer.
You record. We bring it together.
Your job is the reaction.
Not the editing.
You do not need to figure out how to put two videos on screen. That is where your CCM team comes in.
- ✓ Our team selects the clips. Share your preferences with your account manager.
- ✓ You watch and respond. Give us your real, unpolished perspective.
- ✓ Our editors assemble the video. The audience sees the source clip alongside your reaction, as shown in the walkthrough.
Please use the clips supplied by your team. Flag anything that feels out of context or unsuitable for your church before it is published.

Before you overthink it
You don’t have to be a “content person.”
Do I need a script or a prepared message?
No. The goal is your first, genuine response. You can be thoughtful without scripting it. Do a quick equipment check, but leave the actual clips unwatched until you are recording.
What if I’m not naturally funny?
You do not have to be. A reaction can be thoughtful, encouraging, curious, or lighthearted. Your own personality is the point, not an impression of someone else.
Will you send me controversial videos?
The starting point is material you are comfortable discussing, including fun and lighthearted clips. Tell your account manager your preferences and boundaries. If a particular clip feels wrong for your church, skip it and ask for another option.
Does every response need a Bible verse?
No. Do not force a Scripture reference into a conversation just because you are a pastor. If a passage genuinely fits, share it thoughtfully and check its accuracy before publication.
How long should I talk, and how should I film?
Aim for one clear thought instead of a lengthy explanation. There is no fixed recording length in this guide. Ask your account manager to confirm the preferred orientation, framing, and whether to send one long recording or separate files before you start.
Will these replace our sermon clips?
No. They supplement them with a different kind of conversation. The format may help new people discover your perspective, but reach and engagement vary. No individual video is guaranteed to go viral.
What if I need someone to walk me through it?
Reach out to your account manager. They can help with folder access, your recording setup, and next steps, and coordinate a call with Kelby if needed.
Start with one batch
You bring the perspective.
We’ll help with the rest.
You do not need a studio, a perfect answer, or another item to research. Start by asking your account manager for the clips and a little help getting set up.
A simple message to your account manager
Hey! I’d like to try react videos. Can you send me a first batch of 5–6 clips, confirm how you’d like me to record them, and let me know where to upload? I’ll wait to watch them until my camera is recording. If needed, can we do a quick setup walkthrough?Paste it into your usual conversation with your account manager. This page does not send it for you.
